Professorship in Educational Technology

The University of Zurich invites applications for a professorship in educational technology (open rank).

The position should be filled by 1 August 2021. Depending on the qualifications of the appointee, the professorship will take the form of a chair or an assistant professorship with tenure track.

The professorship at the Institute of Education represents the field of educational technology in research and teaching. Together with other professorships, it is responsible for BA, MA and PhD programmes in educational science. Also, it assumes tasks in initial and continuing education for teachers at baccalaureate schools. Possible research areas include the design of digitally supported learning arrangements, self-regulated, informal and lifelong learning with digital technologies, digital literacy, information literacy, computational thinking or learning analytics. Active participation in the teaching and research activities of the interdepartmental «Digital Society Initiative» (DSI) of the University of Zurich is expected.

Excellent scientific achievements in the relevant area of research are required, for example, proven by an outstanding publication track record. Depending on the qualifications of the appointee, the professorship will take the form of a chair or an assistant professorship with tenure track.

Teaching may be carried out in English. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire a working knowledge of German within the first two years of the appointment.
