The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is one of the most renowned and largest universities in Germany.



The position holder should represent the field of dermato-oncology as part of dermatology in research, teaching and clinical practice (but with the option of an advantage) with national and international visibility. The focus is on laboratory and translational research in skin cancer using advanced molecular "omics" technologies to elucidate molecular alterations in primary skin tumors and their metastases as well as molecular mechanisms of therapy resistance. Associated with the position is a possible clinical activity in the skin tumor center with close connection to the Comprehensive Cancer Center of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU).


With this call, the LMU addresses in particular highly qualified junior researchers who have demonstrated an extraordinary potential for a further academic career after having completed a university degree and an above-average doctorate or comparable special qualification through their achievements in research and teaching.


Prerequisites are also internationally outstanding scientific work in the field of molecular dermato-oncology, successful acquisition of third-party funding and for clinically-scientific persons recognition as a specialist in skin and venereal diseases and further education in drug tumor therapy. Special attention is paid to profound knowledge in modern molecular "omics" technologies, bioinformatics, molecular pathology and cell biology.


The appointment takes place in the presence of the civil service requirements in a civil servant relationship for a period of six years. With a positive evaluation of professional, pedagogical and personal suitability, the temporary civil servant relationship can be converted into a civil service contract for a minimum of three years at the earliest.
