A Project Research Associate Position
at the Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), the University of Tokyo


The ISSP invites outstanding candidates for a non-tenured project research associate position
at the Kobayashi group in the Laser and Synchrotron Research (LASOR) center. The successful
candidate will collaborate with Prof. Yohei KOBAYASHI to develop state-of-the-art laser systems
and to carry out novel spectroscopy.


The Number of Open Positions and Affiliation:
One non-tenured Project Research Associate at the KOBAYASHI group in the Laser and
Synchrotron Research (LASOR) center.


Research Subject:
The successful candidate is expected to develop state-of-the-art laser systems and to carry out
novel spectroscopy related to a laser processing. He/she is also expected to play an active role
in the collaboration experiment with other institutes including academia and industry and to
supervise laboratory activities of the graduate students.


The term of appointment and qualification:
The position is now open, and the term should start at the earliest possible date. The longest
appointment is until March 31, 2025. Applicants must have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree in a
relevant field, or otherwise must get a degree before the starting date of appointment.

2) Complete list of publications (mark three most important papers)
3) Copy of the papers marked above
4) Summary of research accomplishments (up to two pages)
5) Research plan (up to two pages)
6) Letter of recommendation (applicant should arrange a letter of recommendation to be sent
directly from a recommender to ISSP)
