A highly experienced experimental scientist is required for a diverse range of projects. The work will require extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, a strong understanding of protein structure, strong enzymology skills, excellent knowledge of metabolic pathways, and experience in basic chemical analytic techniques. The work will focus on developing complex enzyme systems for the production of chemicals.

Minimum qualifications include:

(1) BS and PhD degrees in Biochemistry or related fields
(2) A minimum of two years postdoctoral training
(3) A track record of publications in reputable, peer reviewed journals
(4) Professional understanding of biochemical systems and analysis
(5) Demonstrated ability to mentor other lab members
(6) Demonstrated ability to write clearly for papers and grant applications
(7) Experience as a laboratory manager, including co-ordination of ordering, cataloging and stock keeping of reagents, as well as maintenance of scientific instruments.
(8) Ability to interact with regulatory and oversight bodies relating to laboratory safety.
(9) Experience in writing lucid and comprehensible standard operating procedures (SOPs) for biochemical experimentation.
