Research Assistant in Behavioural Science

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at the Behavioural Science Group (BSG) at the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (DPHPC). This position is part of a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) research programme grant on developing and evaluating interventions to support medication adherence within the primary care, directed by Professor Stephen Sutton

The successful candidate will assist with the management and co-ordination of the Programme on Adherence to Medication (PAM) trial in primary care. This involves managing the PPI aspect of the Programme, organising meetings with co-investigators and the Programme Steering Committee, and providing additional support for the day-to-day running of the trial

You will be educated to degree level and preferably hold an MSc in a relevant scientific field or have equivalent experience with running clinical trials as well as research/project management. You will possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as a high level of computer literacy, along with strong organisational skills and a flexible approach to demanding situations. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and of ethics and research governance would be an advantage, as would experience of primary care research. The role will require a DBS which will be applied for once an offer has been accepted.

This position is full time.

The funds for this post are available until 31st May 2022 in the first instance, with the potential to be extended until 31 May 2023 subject to funder approval.
