Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 503644) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Education Psychology, Cognitive Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.  They should have strong competence in teamwork organization, communication, qualitative and quantitative research methodology; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and the abilities to work cross-disciplinarily with detail for accuracy, independently as well as in a team.  Preference will be given to those with experience in academic thesis writing and high proficiency in written English and Chinese. Those with less experience may be appointed as Research Assistant II.

The appointee will work on a cross-faculty educational and research project with a number of healthcare professionals and other faculties at HKU and beyond.  This will be in connection with the dissemination and supporting of teaching staff to use a novel and innovative video pedagogy that is used online to help students develop higher-order thinking and performance skills.  The appointee will assist with operation, implementation and data collection including creating project resource materials on the novel pedagogy, and training for implementing the video pedagogy in different faculties and beyond; evaluate the outcomes of the educational intervention; collect and analyze outcome data; publish results; and perform other duties as assigned by the project lead professor and senior researcher.
