Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 515166) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health or other related disciplines in life/ medical sciences. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English; good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; a strong sense of responsibility; and a research interest in epidemiology. They should be detail-orientated and able to work collaboratively in a team. Experience in epidemiology and statistical analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g. R, Python, SAS, Stata, SPSS, Matlab and C++) are highly preferred.

The appointee will assist in studies investigating the epidemiology and control of medical emergencies. He/She will analyse statistical data and prepare publications and reports. Information about the Department can be obtained at https://emed.hku.hk/en.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
