Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 503933) (to commence as soon as possible for 3 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related disciplines.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English, a strong sense of responsibility, and adequate knowledge of statistical methods and quantitative research.  They should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess good organizational skills and be able to work independently.  Previous work experience in research projects is preferable but not essential.

The appointee will work on research projects related to the geography of innovation in Hong Kong and will work closely with Dr. F. van der Wouden of the Department of Geography.  He/She will be responsible for developing an interactive website that presents large scale of data in an informative and beautiful way.  Knowledge in JavaScript, React, Redux, Gatsby, Leaflet.js and Elasticsearch would be a great advantage.  For further enquiries about the post, please contact Dr. van der Wouden at email:  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
