Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Ophthalmology (Ref.: 503239) (to commence as soon as possible for 18 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines, with relevant work experience.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (particularly fluent Cantonese), and good interpersonal skills with knowledge of basic statistics.  They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.  Those with experience in conducting interviews, proficiency in statistics programming (SPSS, R or VBA etc.) and a keen research interest in epidemiology would be advantageous. 

The appointee will mainly assist in a community project related to public health in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island.  He/She will manage research database for a large epidemiology study, conduct interviews, analyse data and perform other duties as assigned.  Irregular working hours may be required occasionally.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
