Doctoral Research Associate

(part-time 75%, salary level TV-L E13)
The position is available for the duration of three years and is expected to start in spring 2021. Currently, the regular working time in Germany for full (100%) employment is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week.
The position is in Benedikt Wirth's research group and is part of a DFG-funded research project (jointly held with Thomas Huser's group at the University of Bielefeld) in the interdisciplinary DFG Collaborative Research Centre 1450 "InSight". It focuses on mathematical research in mathematical imaging and data processing, or more specifically, on fast variational interpolation and approximation methods for manifold-valued data from real microscopy experiments. The research will be suitable for a PhD thesis topic. The successful candidate will benefit from the stimulating environment and facilities of the Cluster of Excellence "Mathematics Münster: Dynamics – Geometry – Structure".
