Research Associate in Biochemistry

University of Cambridge Department of Biochemistry

United Kingdom

We wish to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate. The post-holder will join a vibrant research group investigating the links between genome instability and neurodegeneration in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge. An overview of the Khoronenkova group's research interests can be found at

DNA damage signalling and repair are crucial in living cells for the maintenance of genome stability. Multiple genome instability disorders are linked with neurodevelopmental and progressive neurodegenerative phenotypes. However, the underlying mechanisms of these defects remain elusive. This project will focus on investigating the molecular mechanisms of chronic innate immune signalling in response to cytosolic DNA in neurogenerative syndromes.

This project is funded by AstraZeneca and will involve close interactions with AstraZeneca Neuroscience UK. The position is available immediately and will be for 2 years with the possibility of extension.

For informal enquiries please contact Dr Svetlana Khoronenkova at
