The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, invites applications for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment is initially for one (1) year, with continuation and renewal based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (up to a maximum of three years).
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated expertise in:
RNA extraction and RNA library preparation (RNA-seq, CLIP-seq, MeRIP, ribosome profiling)
Cloning, expression, and protein purification
Biochemistry experiments, including protein activity assays, protein–RNA binding affinity determination, and kinetics
Drive research projects involving RNA extraction and RNA library preparation.
Conduct cloning, expression, and protein purification experiments.
Perform biochemistry experiments, including protein activity assays and protein–RNA interaction studies.
Develop collaborative and independent research programs related to RNA biology.
Co-supervise students and research staff.
Coordinate NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators.
Contribute to grant preparation, progress reports, and manuscript writing.
