Posting Summary

Program Director for the Health Outcomes, Policy and Economics (HOPE) who is responsible for research, education, and administration of the program. The Director identifies and secures funding for health outcomes research; manages, teaches and advises in HOPE’s educational programs; coordinates an Industry Advisory Council, and administers the operations of the HOPE enterprise.

· Develops a portfolio of scientific research as Principal Investigator on grants related to health
outcomes research and/or health economics research.
· Oversees the implementation of HOPE educational initiatives including degree programs,
certificate programs, internships, fellowships, continuing education, and educational
symposia; support teaching needs and a robust advising system, including training and
placement for capstone research.
· Coordinates administration of educational initiatives with leadership from the Ernest Mario
School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health (SPH); work with SPH to support admission of qualified students.
· Coordinates the HOPE Industry Advisory Council and informs the Council of HOPE’s work.
· Oversees recruitment for HOPE industry fellowship programs, coordinate the relationship
between Rutgers and HOPE fellowship sponsors, oversee onboarding, and serve as a
preceptor to fellows.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Under Policy 60.1.35, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Minimum Education and Experience

Masters required, PhD or PharmD degree preferred in appropriate field (health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, public health, business/health services research, biostatistics).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced knowledge and experience in conducting health economics, health services research studies, real-world research, and the evaluation of health care interventions. Minimum of 5 years of experience in health economics/outcomes research in academia, the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare
