  • Base salary range: Level A $76,686 – $103,202 OR Level B $108,509 - $128,404 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Research Associate will have the opportunity to explore and map the key parameters in novel energy catalysis, for example, carbon dioxide conversion, methane splitting, or ammonia splitting. The research works will include catalyst synthesis and characterisation, performance evaluation, and mechanistic studies. The outcomes will help determine the efficiency, selectivity and stability of the catalyst materials, as well as the feasibility and sustainability of the catalytic reactions, to underpin catalysis futures.

Reporting to Professor Hongqi Sun, the research team leader, the Research Associate will hold a recognised doctoral degree or equivalent experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience of heterogeneous catalysis, advanced characterisation, and materials chemistry, with an outstanding track record in research, evidenced by the volume, quality, and impact of peer reviewed publications relative to opportunity. The appointee will also ideally have demonstrated success in the professional development of students and made impactful contributions to the (co)supervision of PhD students.
