Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in Condensed Matter Theory and Modelling of Quantum 2D Materials (2 posts available).

This is an opportunity for talented researchers in condensed matter theory to study physical properties (electronic band structure, electronic transport, optical and thermoelectric) of two-dimensional materials, their heterostructures, and devices based on such materials. We seek theorists with experience (proven by publications record) in physics of two-dimensional materials, quantum transport studies, or in strongly correlated quantum systems. Skills in field-theory methods in condensed matter theory or ab initio modelling using density functional theory will be equally welcome.

As this role involves research at a postgraduate level, applicants who are not an EEA national or a national of an exempt country and who will require sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the UK Visas and Immigration’s (UKVI) Points Based System in order to take up the role, will be required to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) Certificate and will need to obtain this prior to making any official visa application UKVI)
