Position Summary

Applications are invited to apply for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Entomology at Michigan State University. Research responsibilities of the associate will be associated with research focusing on GLP pesticide analysis and laboratory quality assurance.  

Start date:  April 2021.  The initial appointment is for one year, with potential for renewal for another year based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Chemistry, Entomology, or related field

Minimum Requirements

  • The candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, entomology or related field, with evidence of research productivity beyond their graduate research and at least one year of additional postdoctoral experience.
  • Experience in pesticide residue analysis with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS and HPLC on food crops and GLP training.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance activities for analytical laboratories conducting research on food crops under GLPs .

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Assurance activities for analytical laboratories conducting research on food crops under GLPs.
  • Experience in pesticide residue analysis with LC-MS/MS, GC-MS and HPLC on food crops and GLP training.
  • GLP training in conducting pesticide field residue studies.
  • Experience in implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
