Your Role
  • Involve in the development of transparent criteria for the selection of data sources within completed and ongoing IMI projects for FAIRification – the process to improve the level of Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability of data.
  • Identify, recommend and implement existing metadata standards for different data types (e.g. pre-clinical/clinical: phenotype, imaging, genomic, and other molecular data).
  • Participate in the maintenance, further development of ELIXIR-Luxembourg IMI data catalogue (https://datacatalog.elixir-luxembourg.org) and collection of study metadata into it.
  • Dissemination of IMI catalogue that lists all FAIRified databases handled by the consortium
  • Electronic medical records, clinical and omics data curation, standardization, integration and analysis using standards such as OMOP CDM/OHDSI, HL7/FHIR, i2b2 or similar.
  • Work closely with other team members on the design and implementation of FAIRification process.

Your Profile
  • A PhD in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, biomedicine or similar, with an interest in biomedical informatics and translational medicine.
  • Good knowledge of electronic medical records, clinical and translational data standards and analysis frameworks such as OMOP CDM/OHDSI, HL7/FHIR or similar.
  • Proven work experience with clinical and translational medicine data curation, harmonisation and standardisation.
  • Knowledge of standards, controlled terminologies and ontologies.
  • Computer scripting/programming (Java or Perl or Python) is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of clinical and translational landscape, especially I2B2 (https://www.i2b2.org), tranSMART (http://transmartfoundation.org), Electronic Data Capturing (EDC) systems like REDCap (https://www.project-redcap.org) and/or OpenClinica (https://www.openclinica.com) is advantageous, but not compulsory.   
  • Proven experience of collaborative research, research management and project management.
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively organise, prioritise and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate clearly the scientific and technical needs and to work within an interdisciplinary setting, communicating with other internal and external partners.
