Your Tasks 
You develop a design-historical essay on the subject of men's shoes, using the example of the Swiss shoe manufacturer Bally, which will be published in book form at the end of 2020. In addition, you support the project management of "Silk History since 1800" when completing the publication in German and English. In the silk project you research independently in libraries and archives, edit and write scientific texts and work with part of the image and layout. In addition, you develop new research projects in the field of design history together with the project management. 

Your Profile 
You have a university degree with a specialization in design, history or, ideally, design history. A broad cultural horizon distinguishes you as well as the desire for cultural-historical research. You have very good command of English and can impart research results in German in a convincing and appropriate way. You are IT-savvy and have, if possible, extra-professional experience. You are committed, able to work in a team and resilient. 

Our Range 
The position is located in the research group Product & Textile of the Lucerne University of Art and Design. There you will become part of an interdisciplinary research team specializing in historical and current design research. In addition to working on the diverse projects of the research group, you will expand its research expertise in the field of design history. The position is limited to two years.
