£27511 to £31866 per annum (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD).

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic organic chemist for a Postdoctoral Research Associate post within the research groups of Professor Hon Wai Lam and Dr Graham Newton, based in the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. This is a highly challenging project in synthetic organic chemistry and inorganic material science, which requires excellence in contemporary practical skills, preferably demonstrated by your previous publication record. The project will focus on the development of new hybrid polyoxometalate catalysts for site-selective photochemical C-H functionalisation of complex molecules. 

Candidates must:

Hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in synthetic organic chemistry. Experience in organometallic chemistry and coordination chemistry is desirable.

Be available to take up the post from 1st July 2021.

Have a proven track record of excellence in synthetic chemistry. 

Have excellent organisational, communication and team working skills.

The post is available on full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term contract until 30 June 2023. Job share arrangements may be considered.
