£27511 to £34804 per annum, pro rata depending on skills and experience (minimum £30942 with relevant PhD).

The role holder will be an integral part of a research project investigating medieval practices of wordless singing, as recorded across a number of editions, catalogues and original archival documents. Working closely with the PI, they will compile data, transcribe texts, and translate this information into an innovative database.

The successful applicant will have, or is shortly to be awarded, a doctoral-level qualification in music. Title will be 'Research Associate' where an appointment is made before PhD is completed. Applicants with equivalent experience and an advanced level of musical literacy will also be considered. Prior experience of working with pre-modern notations, archival sources, and/or databases would be highly advantageous. Initial training will be provided by the PI.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 4 months, hours of work are part-time (18.13 hours).
