Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top 100 universities. The University has around 44 000 students and more than 8 000 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

The Faculty of Medicine is a part of Lund University, and is responsible for education and research within medicine and healthcare. Our academic programs are closely linked with the healthcare system and are firmly anchored in the faculty’s strong research tradition. Our research spans a broad field within experimental preclinical research, near-patient clinical research and health sciences research. The Faculty of Medicine, with its 1,800 employees and 2,700 students in Lund and Malmö, is a knowledge-intensive meeting place for students, teachers and researchers from all over the world.

The Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund (IKVL) is one of six institutions at the Faculty of
Medicine, Lund University. The department has a broad collaboration, both within the faculty and within other units at the University. IKVL also has a well-developed collaboration with Skåne University Hospital (SUS) and Region Skåne as well as the surrounding community and business. This is topromote clinical and experimental translational research, development and education.

The research group

BioMS is a distributed national infrastructure in biological mass spectrometry, composed of three nodes located at Lund University, the Karolinska Institute and University of Gothenburg/Chalmers. Lund University is host university. BioMS primary task is to develop and implement new techniques in biological mass spectrometry and proteomics to support Swedish scientists in both academic and industry research programs. The node at Lund University is cross-disciplinary with several experienced scientists with broad knowledge in analytical chemistry, biology, medicine, biomedicine and bioinformatics. The node has several state-of-the art mass spectrometers and is integrated into an academic research environment with more than 60 scientists working on biological mass spectrometry related research questions.

Within the department, we ensure a good working environment with respect and consideration in our relationships with each other. We are constantly working to create the conditions for job satisfaction, development and participation for all employees.
