The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow in Biostatistics to work as a statistical consultant in the Biostatistics Unit within the Division of Biostatistics, Data Analytics, Modelling and Health Economics in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM). The Biostatistics Unit is the largest such unit in Australia and engages in methodological biostatistical research, collaborative clinical and public health research, postgraduate degree programs in biostatistics, and operates the Biostatistics Consulting Platform. The Unit’s collaborative research activities span many areas of clinical research and public health, including all phases (I-IV) of clinical trials, cohort studies and clinical disease registries.

The Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow position will participate the Biostatistics Consulting Platform to collaborate and provide statistical support to researchers in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and from allied Monash hospitals. This includes up to a 0.40 fraction of the position for providing support to the Monash Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health (MonCOEH) on a range of projects involving occupational cohort studies and disease registries.

Appointment at the higher level will require a more substantial record of experience providing statistical collaboration and support in clinical/health research.

To be appointable in this role you must hold a masters or doctoral qualification in Statistics, Biostatistics or related area, with experience providing statistical support to clinical researchers, and possess excellent communication and computing skills (e.g. R, Stata).

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
