Job Summary

Nottingham University Business School China, led by Prof. Yanjun Guan, is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the postdoctoral research station in business administration. This role will contribute to the development of UNNC’s research agenda in Business Administration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and articulate research objectives, developing proposals for individual and collaborative projects using established methodologies.

  • Analyze data, interpret findings, evaluate scholarly texts, and contribute innovative insights while meeting project deadlines and collaborating with team members and partners.

  • Prepare research work for publication and contribute to dissemination at national/international conferences.

  • Identify opportunities and assist in writing research grant applications.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts to foster future collaborations and funding opportunities.


Candidate Profile

  • PhD degree obtained within the last 3 years in business administration, data analytics, applied psychology, organizational behavior, statistics, machine learning, or related areas.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

  • High analytical ability to interpret data, evaluate reports, and contribute new insights.

  • Ability to creatively apply research approaches, models, techniques, and methods.

  • Capability to assess and organize resources efficiently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally.

  • Some practical experience applying specialist skills and techniques in research.

About the Project

This project aims to:

  1. Develop a comprehensive framework for job search success, unifying existing conceptualizations and uncovering new dimensions relevant to modern career development.

  2. Propose and test a multi-dimensional measure for subjective job search success, validated through qualitative and quantitative studies across diverse cultural and employment backgrounds.

  3. Examine how these dimensions predict subsequent career outcomes, enhancing understanding of factors influencing career sustainability.


Remuneration, Benefits & Support

  • Fixed-term contract for 2 years with UNNC.

  • Minimum annual salary: RMB 269,906, with a competitive benefits package.

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow can apply for RMB 50,000 research funding after starting research.
