Duties and responsibilities

Participation in research and development work in the field of media and communication studies.
Applying, managing and performing the projects supporting the development of the specialisation.
Teaching courses (including lectures, seminars, and practical sessions) using modern teaching methods and educational technology at least on the first and second level of higher education in the field of media and communication studies as well as in continuing education.
Supervising students’ research and graduation theses.
Professional development to enhance teaching and supervising skills, research and development duties.

Required qualifications

Research degree or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience

The candidates for the position are expected to have conducted internationally recognized research in the volume equivalent to at least one doctoral thesis and have the experience of participation in international research and development projects.
In addition, the candidates must be qualified to teach at least on the first two levels of higher education, have the knowledge of modern study aids, learning environments, learning methods and their development opportunities and the ability to supervise students’ research.
The candidates are expected to have experience in independently completed research in media and communication studies within the last five years and the knowledge of social scientific research methods (quantitative as well as qualitative methods). The contacts with the community of the media and communication studies in the Baltic Sea region are expected as well.

Required language skills

Excellent command of Estonian; command of English sufficient for professional communication and research.
