Now recruiting research technicians to help improve photosynthesis for increased yields at the University of Illinois

The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is hiring several research technicians to assist the research project Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (https://ripe.illinois.edu) with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR) and the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID).

One position (Research Technician) will assist a postdoctoral researcher on the RIPE project with molecular biology tasks, plant maintenance, and fieldwork. Another position (Research Laboratory Technician) will conduct laboratory work on the function and expression of photosynthesis for the RIPE project. Additional details and links to apply can be found at https://ripe.illinois.edu/team/join-our-team.

Please contact the RIPE project’s Senior Project Manager Lisa Emerson at lemerson@illinois.edu to learn more about additional technical positions to assist with the genetic transformation of crops that will be posted in the coming weeks.

The University of Illinois is a world leader in photosynthesis research and has contributed to some of the most seminal discoveries in photosynthesis. Illinois is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the traditional strengths in photosynthesis research with the emerging engineering/technological capabilities associated with genomics and DNA editing, and modeling whole plant-environment interactions.

Illinois is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer. Minorities, women, veterans, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. For more information, visit http://go.illinois.edu/EEO.
