Research Technician


Starting on March/April, 2021, a laboratory technician position for at least 1 year (60-80%) is available in the research group of Prof. Endimiani at the Institute of Infectious Diseases (IFIK; University of Bern). The technician will be mainly involved in culture-based and molecular tests (whole-genome sequencing) for multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria.

A broad panel of classic and advanced molecular techniques (mainly whole-genome sequencing), as well as standard phenotypic susceptibility tests, will be daily implemented.
  • The technician must be enthusiastic for research in the field of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
  • Candidates with a background in microbiology (more specifically in bacteriology) and molecular biology are well qualified.
  • The technician should possess good English skills and good capacity with office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
