The Department of Environmental Science is one of the biggest departments at the Faculty of Science with about 175 employees. The sources, environmental fate and effects of organic contaminants is one of the major research areas.

Project description

The position will be associated with a project on field studies of organic contaminant biodegradation. The goal of this project is to develop and apply methods to measure the biotransformation kinetics of a broad spectrum of organic contaminants in the field or in experiments that closely approximate field conditions.

Main responsibilities

The main responsibilities will be initiating, conducting and publishing research within the scope of the project

Qualification requirements

Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills relevant to the project. Experience in the trace analysis of polar organic contaminants in water and the study of biodegradation in the field is particularly relevant.

Terms of employment

The position involves full-time employment for one year with the possibility of extension. Start date 1 June 2020 or as per agreement.
