Your role
As a Headhunter for Academic & Research Talent, you'll be at the forefront of attracting world-class research talent to the University. You’ll build proactive talent pipelines, ensuring the university has access to top-tier candidates ready to contribute to groundbreaking research and innovation. You excel at identifying and engaging specialized talent, many of whom may not be actively seeking new roles, and you’re adept at cultivating relationships with leaders in academia and research.
You can engage with anyone. You love hearing about others’ research experiences and sharing your excitement about advancing groundbreaking projects.
How You'll Make a Difference:
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Partner closely with hiring managers and university leaders to understand recruitment needs, develop sourcing strategies, and cultivate tailored talent pools
- Engage Specialized Talent: Use creative sourcing methods—including networking, direct outreach, and advanced sourcing tools—to identify and engage candidates who might not be actively looking for new opportunities
- Stay Informed on Research Trends: Remain updated on global research advancements and maintain a strong grasp of academic and research talent acquisition best practices
- Proactively Identify Candidates: Conduct targeted searches to pre-identify candidates suited for specialized research roles
- Participate in Interviews: Support the candidate evaluation process by participating in interviews and assessments to ensure fit with university objectives and role requirements
- Leverage Social Networks: Strategically use social networks and industry platforms to connect with academic and research communities
- Effective Reporting: Provide regular reports on sourcing progress, candidate engagement, and hiring results to university stakeholders
Your profile
- Master degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field required
- Several years of recruitment experience, ideally with a search/headhunting background
- Proven track record in developing creative sourcing strategies
- Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques, e.g. recruiting on social platforms, crafting Boolean search strings, utilizing AI tools
- Demonstrated expertise in candidate assessment and resume screening
- Great at talking and connecting with people, with a talent for building relationships and making candidates feel comfortable
- Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
