Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is looking for a highly motivated and productive Postdoctoral Researcher on the following fields: business management with an emphasis on human resource management, strategic management, sustainable business management, or business information technology management. We are offering a full-time early career position with a 3-year contract.

The position is designed to allow the candidate to work in one of three established teams corresponding to the candidate’s background and research focus. The main agenda will be publishing papers in international top journals within the field, attracting external research funding, and developing international research cooperation. Limited participation in teaching (both lecturing and tutoring in English) is also a part of the job.

We are looking for a candidate:

  • In the early career stage after the Ph.D. graduation,
  • with a Ph.D. degree (or expected to get the degree by June 2025) in business management, business administration, human resource management, economics, finance, psychology, or a related field from a respected ranked university,
  • with research interest in strategic management, sustainable business management, business technology management, or human resource management, which is evident from the candidate's previous research and other activities,
  • with excellent background in statistics and quantitative research methods relevant to the field,
  • potential to publish in leading international scientific journals,
  • able to discuss, write, and teach in English (at least C1 level),
  • ready to start the job in February 2025 or in September 2025.

What does the position entail?

  • Planning and conducting research studies, writing research manuscripts,
  • active collaboration with other department members on research and teaching,
  • publishing research papers in leading international journals,
  • submission of grant proposals,
  • international research and project collaboration,
  • participation in teaching bachelor and master courses for 2 - 4 hours a week, 24 weeks per year,
  • supervision of student theses,
  • popularization of own research agenda to the public.

What do we offer?

  • A full-time (40 hours a week) Postdoctoral Researcher position at one of the highest-ranked universities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
  • A 3-year initial contract.
  • The monthly salary from 57 000 CZK (i.e. €2,400) before taxes (gross average wage in the Czech Republic is around €1800/month, median wage is €1500/month; your salary will be burdened with 20 – 25% income taxes). In the case of meeting the annual goals, the employee is entitled to bonuses.

This position is internally funded. The successful candidate will become part of a team that matches their
research focus.
