The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, invites applications for the following position:
Post-doctoral Researcher in Regional Economics
Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is seeking a highly motivated and productive postdoctoral researcher in the field of regional economics.
This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts from Masaryk University and partner institutions on research related to tourism, mobility, and labour market aspects of regional peripheries, with participation in ongoing research projects. These projects explore a wide range of topics, including environmental issues, energy issues, mobility, tourism, accessibility of work, retail, and public services.
We are looking for a candidate:
With a PhD degree or near completion of PhD studies
With education and experience in regional/urban/spatial economics
With research interest and demonstrated excellence in related fields
With an excellent background in empirical methods and interdisciplinary research interests
Solid knowledge of spatial econometrics is welcomed
With research potential demonstrated by a strong job market paper or at least 1 peer-reviewed publication
With fluency in English
A self-driven person capable of defining their own research agenda
Full-time postdoctoral researcher in regional/urban/spatial economics
Participation in a research project focused on regional economics and peripheries with a multidisciplinary research team
Peer-reviewed research and presentation at international conferences
Contribution to national and international grant proposals
Full-time (40 hours/week) position at one of the highest-ranked universities in Central and Eastern Europe
Earliest start date: September 1st, 2026 or later, by mutual agreement
Monthly salary: 2,000–3,000 EUR/month (gross), based on seniority
Fixed-term contract for 12 months with possible renewal up to 36 months (until August 31, 2029), subject to positive performance review
