We are looking for a researcher with an orientation towards human-animal relations, at the Centre for Gender Research, for 50% of full time and a period of six months, starting in September 2021.

The Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University is an interdisciplinary unit, which works with three main areas:

  • Research
  • Research communication
  • Education

Work description: The position is for research and work with a project plan, which is meant to result in an application for external funding for a research project. The project is to be placed at CfGR, it must have a gender studies perspective with an orientation relevant to the orientation of the position as such. The planned project can involve researchers from different disciplines, across domains.

The position may also entail some research-administrative tasks, and teaching. The person who accepts the position is expected to be an active part of the CfGR research seminar series, and to contribute to the development of the CfGR research milieu.

Qualifications: To be qualified for the position, the applicant must have a PhD degree. We are looking for researchers with varying disciplinary backgrounds, who use gender perspectives, and who have the formal qualifications and the personal qualities needed to perform well in the position. The work requires good ability for independent work as well as demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact both within the academic community and the society at large. The planned research project will be given particular weight in the assessment of applicants.

At present there are more employees with legal gender woman than legal gender man at the Centre for Gender Research. The University is striving for a more balanced distribution of legal gender within this category. 

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 01-09-2021

Type of employment: Temporary position ending 28-02-2022.

Scope of employment: 50%
