The DigiTax Centre of Excellence and the Faculty of Law are  looking for a researcher (predoctoral or postdoctoral) in the field of behavioural sciences and taxation.

Position

  • You actively contribute to ongoing research on the relationship between the government (with a focus on the tax administration) and citizens.
  • You publish academic articles related to the research project.

Profile

  • (Predoc position): you hold a Master’s degree in a discipline within the humanities or social sciences (e.g. law or psychology), or you will have obtained this degree by the time of appointment.
  • (Postdoc position): you hold a PhD in a discipline within the humanities or social sciences (e.g. law or psychology), or you will have obtained this degree by the time of appointment.
  • You can demonstrate excellent academic results.
  • We especially encourage candidates with an interest in or experience with empirical research methods.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
  • You can work in a group as well as on your own initiative.
  • You have good written and spoken communication skills. You can speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.

What we offer

  • (Predoc): we offer a position for a period of 10 months (full-time appointment) or 1 year (in a 80 % appointment). We will explore options together to extend the contract (subject to a positive evaluation).
  • (Postdoc): we offer a position for a period of 7 months (full-time appointment) or 1 year (at 60% appointment). We will explore options together to extend the contract (subject to a positive evaluation).
  • The planned start date is October 1, 2025  or as soon as possible after that date.
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for an assistant in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
  • You will do most of your work at the Stadscampus in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
