Overview

The Department of Neuroscience is a basic research department focusing on synaptic biology and glia biology.

The lab of Dr. Dulla investigates how synapses are formed and remodeled in the developing nervous system with a broad focus on neurological disease and epilepsy. We address this question in mouse models and apply electrophysiological and imaging approaches, together with mouse behavioral and in vivo electrophysiological studies. What You'll Do

The Research Technician in the Dulla Lab works directly with the Principal Investigator (PI).

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Supports the maintenance of genetically modified mouse lines by performing genotyping and organizing the breeding schedule of the colony
  • Optimizes and performs a high throughput screen for enhancers of neurotransmitter transporters
  • Contributes to general lab maintenance including ordering supplies and coordinating lab meetings
  • Assists with mouse studies of concussive head injury


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in science
  • Strong computer and database/spreadsheet skills
  • Must be highly organized and need to have excellent communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of neuroscience
  • Experience with handling rodents
  • Previous laboratory experience and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
  • Experience with confocal microscopy


Pay Range

Minimum $19.30, Midpoint $23.15, Maximum $27.00
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
