Join the Ombion Centre for Animal-Free Biomedical Translation (CPBT) as a technician to:
Support the development and standardisation of in vitro assays to replace animal testing.
Contribute to animal-free biomedical innovations for diseases including ALS, cystic fibrosis, osteoarthritis, asthma/COPD.
Work closely with facility managers, automation experts, and scientists to miniaturise and automate assays.
Maintain smooth operations of laboratory facilities.
Cell culture: Standard and advanced models (organoids, organ-on-a-chip).
Laboratory tasks: Prepare solutions/reagents, maintain and calibrate devices.
Inventory management: Stock control, purchasing, liaising with suppliers.
SOP preparation: Document standard operating procedures.
Completed HBO education in life sciences or equivalent.
Hands-on mentality, willing to learn new laboratory techniques.
Experienced in mammalian cell culture and sterile techniques.
Familiar with standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blot, imaging).
Advanced cell culture techniques (stem cell differentiation, organoids, organ-on-a-chip) are a plus.
Well-organised, flexible, and able to work on multiple tasks.
Able to communicate in English (Dutch desired).
