The Faculty of Medicine is responsible for education and research within medicine and healthcare. The faculty employs 1,800 staff and educates 2,700 students, offering programs closely linked to the healthcare system. Research spans preclinical, near-patient, and health sciences research.
The position is located at one of the Departments of Clinical Sciences in Lund or Malmö. The clinical salary is financed by Region Skåne and includes duties as a specialist physician / consultant.
The appointment ensures the undergraduate medical program’s teaching needs in neurology. The holder will:
Lead and manage teaching in neurology
Be primarily responsible for the subject within the medical program
Undertake additional teaching duties at basic, advanced, and doctoral levels within the Faculty of Medicine
Work across Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg, and other clinical placements in Southern Sweden as needed
The role also includes:
Initiating, coordinating, and developing research in neurology
Participating in doctoral education and strategic development of education and research
Administrative tasks and national/international representative duties
Independent clinical service
Other related duties as required
Qualified for lecturer appointment under the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, §4, with:
Demonstrated pedagogical skills
PhD or equivalent scientific competence, or other relevant professional competence
Completion of minimum five-week higher education pedagogy training, or equivalent knowledge, within two years of employment if not already completed
Swedish or Nordic medical license and specialist competence in neurology
Excellent command of Swedish (C2 level)
General suitability for teaching and performance of duties is required.
