The Quantitative Methods Program in the Department of Psychology and Human Development of Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development is searching to fill a Senior Lecturer position to join our Quantitative Methods faculty and teach statistics courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Courses to be covered include graduate Correlation and Regression, graduate Categorical Data Analysis, graduate Statistical Consulting, and introductory statistics for undergraduates and graduate students. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate in quantitative psychology, educational measurement, biostatistics, or another field closely related to quantitative methods. Applicants should describe their experience and philosophy for teaching statistics to graduate students and undergraduates, their training experience relevant to each of the above course topics, and should provide indication of success in the classroom (e.g., through student evaluations, letters of recommendation endorsing teaching excellence, the development of innovative teaching material, teaching awards, and/or publications related to teaching).

The Department of Psychology and Human Development includes programs in Clinical, Developmental, Cognition in Context, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Quantitative Methods (QM).  QM is a vibrant program of seven faculty who work on the cutting edge of topics in statistical modeling and measurement. Embedded in the wider Vanderbilt community there is a wealth of additional quantitative expertise ranging from our Biostatistics department to our Data Science Institute, as well as a broad commitment to teaching excellence supported by our innovative Center for Teaching. Vanderbilt University is located in Nashville, TN, one of the fastest-growing and culturally rich metropolitan areas in the U.S. The successful applicant will teach outstanding students in one of the top-rated Colleges of Education and Human Development in the U.S., with relatively small class sizes, and will receive a competitive salary and excellent benefits.  This Senior Lecturer position will initially be filled for a three-year term appointment, with the expectation of renewal.  A typical teaching load will be three courses per semester.  Additional duties may include advising undergraduate students and supporting the QM Master’s program through advising and administrative activity.
