Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology

The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed-term position available for 3 years

A Senior Lecturer role is now available within the newly established School of Allied Health Science and Practice in the area of Speech Pathology.  The position is a convertible tenure contract and can be either a balanced teaching and research role, or an education focused role.  Please indicate your preference in your covering letter.

The successful candidate will bring their skill, creativity and experience in developing course material for the Program and will play a pivotal role in teaching and research at The University of Adelaide.

Speech Pathology:

• Adult Cognition and Language
• Voice
• Child Speech and Language

To be successful in a balanced academic role you will need:

• A PhD in the relevant discipline, and a Bachelor or Masters qualifying degree in Speech Pathology, and clinical and/or research experience.
• Experience in curriculum development and in the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high-quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high-quality student-centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
• Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects and experience in liaising and promoting research links with external bodies.
• Extensive track record or high-quality publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity and demonstrated commitment to professional activity.

To be successful in an education focused role you will need:

• Completion of a PhD, or have equivalent qualifications and be eligible for registration with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
• Experience in course/program coordination and the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high-quality course and subject design, and in the delivery of high-quality student-centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level that includes the capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and build effective relationships and partnerships in an academic setting.
• Demonstrated academic and management leadership skills, including the ability to mentor less senior academic, research and professional staff, and demonstrated commitment to professional activity.
