(Lecturer Level B/Senior Lecturer Level C) $97,577 to $136,990 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% may apply.

Fixed-term position available for 3 years with the possibility of conversion to continuing position subject to funding availability and performance.

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is seeking to recruit a teaching and research academic as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C).  The School currently offers an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a major partner in the new Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries) program offered in the Faculty. 

This position is an exciting opportunity to help craft and deliver this new degree program as well as to make a significant contribution to the School’s research.  The School has three main research themes, which are Sensing & Security, Energy & Control and Health Technology.

An important element of this role is to be able to work collegially and effectively with other staff in a team environment using your strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

To be successful at Lecturer Level B you will need:

  • An Honours Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering (or closely related area) and a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in education and training in the technologist or engineering fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in execution of large-scale engineering projects, safety management, or integration of complex systems.
  • Ability to contribute to world-class research within an area complementary to existing School strengths, with a strong publication record commensurate with opportunity.
  • Experience of and/or ability to contribute to research proposals for seeking external funding.

In addition to the above, to be successful at Senior Lecturer Level C you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting a research team by contributing to the mentoring of higher degree of research and/or Honours students.
  • Leadership experience and high-quality interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially and effectively with other staff in a team environment.
