SENIOR PROFESSOR
SCHOOL OF THEORETICAL PHYSICS
The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) is a statutory research body dedicated to fundamental research. Established in 1940, it was modelled on the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Erwin Schrödinger, followed by Walter Heitler and John L. Synge were the early Senior Professors and Directors of the School of Theoretical Physics.
The Governing Board of the School of Theoretical Physics wishes to nominate one (or potentially two) exceptional scientist(s) for appointment by the President of Ireland to the permanent post of Senior Professor in the School. Applications are invited from the highest calibre scientists who are operating at the forefront of their field in any area of theoretical physics.
Successful candidates will have an established international research reputation, a proven record of academic leadership and the ability to lead an innovative research programme in the School. Full details about the position can be found here.
Interested candidates should submit as a single pdf document: a letter of application, academic CV, a research statement summarising their most significant publications and a short statement outlining their vision for their tenure at DIAS.
