The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate in Biostatistics and Clinical Trials to lead the statistics group in the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU) - Cancer Theme (CT), located on the Addenbrooke's Biomedical Campus in Cambridge, and work closely with local investigators from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre to develop and deliver high quality clinical trials in cancer research.

The CCTU-CT statistics group is supporting around 40 interventional (50%) and observational trials. The post-holder will be expected to lead the provision of statistical support at the design stage which might entail developing novel trial designs for a spectrum of studies from exploratory stage to phase III. They will also be responsible for leading the team by mentoring staff and managing resources and budget. They will support the team in developing CRFs, statistical analysis plans and handling day-to-day statistical issues. They will lead on interim and final analysis of studies and report directly to trial committees. The role will also include writing and contribution to manuscripts for publication and presentation of analyses at local or international academic meetings. In parallel, the post-holder will interact closely with the core CCTU statisticians and the MRC Biostatistics Unit. Finally, it is expected from the post-holder to develop and deliver their own research project while developing external networks in view of building new relationships for future research programmes.

The range and remit of studies in the CCTU covers all phases I to IV.
