The University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Senior Research Associate in Biostatistics and Clinical Trials to join the CRUK Cambridge Centre Early Detection Programme.

The CRUK Cambridge Centre has been awarded a five-year grant as a Member Centre of the CRUK International Alliance for Cancer Early Detection (ACED) with University College London, Manchester University, the Canary Center at Stanford and The Knight Institute at Oregon Health & Sciences University, US. Cambridge has established infrastructure to conduct first-in-human clinical studies of novel tests for the early detection of cancer across the Alliance. The Senior Research Associate in Biostatistics and Clinical Trials will provide statistical support for all aspects of the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of results of these clinical studies. Leadership of relevant Alliance initiatives and collaboration across the ACED Centres and is a key part of this role and the post-holder is expected to have the ability to influence collaborators on issues of study design, statistical methods and interpretation of results. The post-holder will be expected to play a leadership role in relevant working groups across ACED Centres, developing novel statistical approaches and methodologies appropriate for the evaluation of novel early detection tests. Finally, it is expected from the post-holder to develop and deliver their own research projects while developing external networks in view of building new relationships for future research programmes. There exists a vibrant statistical community within the Cambridge Biomedical campus in which the post-holder will participate.

Applicants should have a PhD, post-doctoral experience and familiarity with clinical trials.
