The School of Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Speech Pathology offers internationally accredited undergraduate and entry-level Masters programs as well as providing innovative and dynamic leadership to the profession. The school is positioned within the Faculty of Heath Sciences and has a vibrant research culture. Our researchers conduct cross-disciplinary research between schools, industry groups, cooperative research centres, institutes and units.

Your New Role

We are seeking a strong academic leader, with an excellent track record in teaching and research to join our Speech Pathology team. The level and salary for the role will be based on your experience.  You will be responsible for:

  • Shaping our research strategy, and undertaking nationally and internationally competitive and high quality research;
  • Fostering a culture of research excellence leading to advancement within the team;
  • Delivering high quality teaching to undergraduate, honours and post graduate students;
  • Acting as a chief investigator in applications for competitive and demand driven research grants;
  • Building research capacity within staff and students in the School;
  • Successful partnering with external stakeholders to the School leading to advanced teaching and research outcomes.

You will bring to the role

  • A doctoral qualification in Speech Pathology;
  • Exceptional academic leadership experience;
  • An established record of highly productive research outputs with regular publication in high quality refereed academic journals;
  • A significant record of obtaining research income;
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in and commitment to excellence in teaching;
  • Demonstrated achievement in the development and delivery of high quality education courses;
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Significant experience and record of providing supervision to higher degree research students.
