The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) at the University of Washington is dedicated to the health and well-being of women and their babies. As a regional leader, we offer highly specialized care and educational programs for women and families with health conditions or special challenges that may complicate pregnancy and birth. Our MFM physicians provide care for mothers with complex medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and diseases of the heart, kidneys, lungs and immune system and mothers with complex multifetal pregnancies and pregnancies with fetal anomalies and/or genetic disorders.  They provide prenatal screening and diagnosis of suspected fetal anomalies and genetic conditions.

The Division of MFM has an outstanding opportunity at the level of Teaching Associate to join our team at the Maternal Infant Care Clinic at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full-time, 12 month (July 1 - June 30) academic position on a yearly appointment with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021. This individual would serve as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP).  The successful candidate would have experience working with high risk patients, clinical teaching experience, and be able to work collaboratively with our MFM faculty to provide full scope ARNP clinical services for high risk pregnant women and their developing babies.   

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with educational background, experience, and career goals.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP, Physician Assistant Licensure or foreign equivalent.
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited PA program and licensure as an ARNP, PA-C or foreign equivalent.
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA-C with DEA.
  • Experience working with high risk patients and clinical teaching experience.
  • Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care.

The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Candidates will be expected to provide medical services at the University of Washington affiliated hospitals, train residents and medical students, and make academic contributions to the field.
