Technical Officer (for Mechanical Workshop), Department of Physics

Permanent Whole-time Post

UCC wishes to appoint to the role of Technical Officer for Mechanical Workshop in the Department of Physics. Reporting to the Head of Department (or his/her nominee) and Chief Technical Officer, the post-holder will provide technical and other support to the departmental teaching and research activities. The successful candidate will be expected to manage delivery of technical support to allocated teaching and research laboratories and assist preparation and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Management of consumables, parts and equipment in the mechanical workshop, teaching laboratories and various research groups within the Department, and input to financial/budgetary matters, will be a requirement of the post.

Appointment may be made on the Technical Officer Salary Scale: €41,049 – €56,709 (Scale B); €43,310 - €53,969 (Scale A). Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
