Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Operations Management

The Department of Accounting, Operations, and Information Systems at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure track faculty position in Operations Management with an emphasis on business analytics and big data. Interest in Management Information Systems will be considered an asset. The anticipated start date of the appointment is July 1, 2019.

Candidates will have graduated from an accredited PhD specialty program (such as operations management, management science, operations research or industrial engineering) and have relevant postgraduate qualifications. Candidates who are close to PhD completion may be considered; however, the appointment will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Hiring preference will be given to candidates possessing an excellent record of publication in high-quality top journals in Operations Management and evidence of teaching excellence. Consideration will be given to applicants who have demonstrated the impact of their research, who provide evidence of established teaching skills, and who have a demonstrated record of service at the departmental, institutional, national, and/or international levels. Proficiency in English is required.

The successful candidate will conduct research directed at top tier operations management journals, take advantage of external research funding opportunities, teach in our undergraduate, Masters, and PhD programs, supervise graduate students and contribute academic service commensurate with level of appointment. The Alberta School of Business has an energetic PhD program and the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in its continuing success and development.
