A position for an university assistant ("Post doc") is available at the Institute of Chemical Catalysis at the Faculty of Chemistry. An interest to develop new homogeneous transition metal catalysts is expected. Additional information on the activities at the institute can be found at .

Duration of employment: 6 year/s

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description: 
Synthesis and characterization of homogenous transition metal complexes and application in catalytic reactions, including mechanistic and kinetic studies of the catalytic reactions. Furthermore the candidate will have to teach courses independently to the extent of the regulations of the wage Agreement. Supervision of students.

PhD in chemistry; experience with organic synthetic and analytic methods. Experience in the synthesis and characterization of homogeneous organometallic compounds, including working under inert atmosphere (Schlenk line, glove box).

Very good knowledge of written and spoken English, Experience of publishing scientific papers. Teamwork skills.
