The Faculty of History at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a University Lectureship in Black British History. This post is tenable from 01 October 2021.

The successful candidate will be an expert in the histories of people of Black British, Caribbean and/or African identity and descent in any period of British history since 1780. It is expected that the postholder will have a track record in producing research of outstanding quality, and experience or interest in public engagement. They will offer undergraduate teaching and graduate supervision focusing on particular areas of expertise within a potentially very large field and will be expected to examine at all levels.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates from a BME background for this vacancy as they are currently under-represented at this level in our Faculty.
