University Lecturer in Drama Education

The position includes teaching with process pedagogical orientation within the department's educational assignments, especially within the teacher education. Teaching takes place mainly in the form of drama, design and discussion exercises and role plays, but also in the form of seminars, workshops and supervision. These types of teaching are mainly applied to courses with a focus on conflict management and handling problems, and in the form of professional guidance for professional teachers and school leaders. Teaching is mainly conducted in Swedish, but elements in English may exist.


Eligibility for employment as a teacher is specified in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and the University of Gothenburg's own employment scheme. Eligible to be hired as a university lecturer is the one who has shown pedagogical skills, partly undergone university education at the lowest advanced level or has equivalent competence or any other skill that is relevant with regard to the subject content of the employment and the duties to be included in the employment. 

Basis of Assessment

Assessment bases for hiring as a teacher are set out in Chapter 4, sections 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and the University of Gothenburg's own employment scheme. In the assessment, special emphasis will be placed on educational merit and skill. Assessment of pedagogical competence shall relate to the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, including supervision and examination. Experience and skill in academic teaching within specified tasks, teaching methods and student groups must be well documented and acknowledged. The importance of the assessment will also be attached to scientific merit and skills as well as the applicant's ability to integrate these into the teaching context. In the assessment, further emphasis is placed on the ability to collaborate and be able to work across institutional boundaries.


The positions are fixed-term employment to an extent of 25% of full-time with placement until further time at the Department of Sociology and Work Science. Employment 1 refers to employment during the period 2019-10-24--2020-01-31 and employment 2 period 2019-11-24--2020-01-31.
